Question: how to replace water pump on 1998 cadillac catera v-6 dohc

water is making nosie with engine running

The 1998 Catera uses a V6 engine made by Opel. A GM company.

This engine is used in Cadillac Catera, Sabb, Saturn L, Saturn Vue, Vaxhall, and Opel V6 vehicles.

To gain access to the water pump. You should go ahead and replace the timing belt at the same time. 9 of the 10 steps are already done.

If coolant has gotten on the timing belt. It should be replaced.

On these V6 engines. If you loose the timing belt, you loose the engine. About $4k for used engines.

Problem #2. This engine requies a very special $500 tool to change the timing belt. The Kent Moore J-42069 tool.
