Question: is air clog expensive in 94 cadillac deville

our air is not working well and we thought it needed to be charged, when it went in the mechanic said it is a clog and it's expensive to diagnose and parts are expensive...anyone know about diagnosing or parts...are they really expensive? and hard to fix?

THERE IS JUST 1 PLACE THAT THE AC UNIT MAY GET CLOG AND THAT IS THE ORIFICE TUBE IT IS NOT EXPENCIVE BUT THE SISTEM NEED TO BE FLUSH TO REMOVE WHAT EVER DEBRY IS IN THE SYSTEM, THE ORIFICE TUBE IS THE A/C SYSTEM FILTER. I WOULD SAY YOU NEED MORE THAT AN AC REPAIR YOU NEED A NEW MECHANIC

there is many places an a/c system can clog. the reciever dryer can clog plus if the dryer's filter bag breaks it will send little white pellets out which can clog the evapator.. and as MASTER TECH humberto pointed out the orifice tube... hold off on looking for new mechanic and look for new online advise ....
