Question: shudder between 40 and 50 MPH

I have a 2005 escalade and recently I noticed a shudder occuring between 40 and 50 mph. The wheels were balanced and the dealer replaced the front differential.
The problem feels like an engine or transmission trouble. The dealer has difficulty determining the cause.
Has this symptom occured before? What problems could cause this condition?
